Alexander Pankonin is currently General Counsel for Oakwood Homes in Denver, CO. He is responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to the entire Oakwood organization on a broad range of legal and business topics to ensure the company is legally sound and aligned with its business objectives. After relocating to Denver in 2008 from Northern Virginia, Alex has made Denver his home. As an urbanist who lives, works, and plays in Downtown Denver, he is community driven and focuses his energy to instill Denver with strong civic and cultural values.

Alex is an active volunteer in the Denver community, currently serving as board president for Presenting Denver, whose mission is to support the art of dance through increased public exposure and the appreciation of movement as an innovative art from. Previous volunteer work include, Bike Denver board of directors, Downtown Denver Partnership work including team leader of City Build and a member of the Rocky Mountain City Summit Steering Committee. He is also an alumnus of the Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership Program.

Alex holds a bachelor’s degree in history from James Madison University and a J.D. from Vermont Law School. He holds bar membership in the states of Colorado, Virginia and District of Columbia.
