Mingus Big Band can be heard in prestigious venues around the world in addition to eleven recordings to its credit. One of the most important figures in twentieth century American music, Charles Mingus was a virtuoso bass player, accomplished pianist, bandleader and composer. He recorded over a hundred albums and wrote over three hundred scores. One of the greatest musicians of our time, Mingus played with the greatest musicians of our time – Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Art Tatum, Duke Ellington and many others. Celebrate the the centennial of Mingus’s birth with a performance not soon to forget.
