Audiences will have a one-of-a-kind opportunity to sit on stage with Grammy Award-winning Afro-Jazz musician, Arturo O’Farrill, as he improvises musical responses to the autobiographical monologues of 5 undocumented leaders.

The autobiographical monologues are by Tania Chairez, Laura Peniche, Alejandro Fuentes Mena, Victor Galvan, and Cristian Solano-Córdova in collaboration with Motus Theater’s Artistic Director, Kirsten Wilson.


UndocuMonologues with Arturo O’Farrill marks the Denver launch of Motus Theater’s national podcast Shoebox Stories: UndocuAmerica series podcast, where prominent Americans stand in the shoes of an undocumented person by reading aloud their story, saying their words and holding the weight they carry. The podcast includes Jorge RamosGloria SteinemNicholas KristofMaria HinojosaHouston Police Chief Art Acevedo and others read powerful stories from the front lines of immigration policy while Grammy award-winning musicians such as Yo-Yo MaArturo O’Farrill, and others perform musical responses.
