The Lamont School of Music students, faculty members and guest artists perform on the concert and recital hall stages of the Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts, one of the nation’s most extraordinary campus arts centers. Audiences select from 300 concerts and events each season featuring the repertoires of orchestras, choirs, jazz ensembles, world music and operas.
Ensembles vary in size from duos to octets, and we especially emphasize collaboration with singers and other instrumentalists. The groups cover music from the Renaissance to the present day.
This recital may be enjoyed from the south courtyard next to the Ritchie Center gym off Asbury Avenue. Attendees are invited to tour the Williams Carillon after the performance.
The Lamont Percussion Ensemble performs traditional percussion ensemble music as well as music from today's important composers, which includes commissions specifically written for our group.
Vocal Spectrum is comprised of several solo vocal soloists with a rhythm section. Vocal Syndicate is an elite group of three to four vocalists backed by a rhythm section who write and arrange all of their own music. Resonance group focuses on repertoire from the rhythm & blues genre.
