The Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts is a beautiful, historical venue located on the University of Denver campus. The building and parking are conveniently located approximately one mile south of I-25 at the University exit.

The Newman Center is home to three large venues and a variety of smaller spaces, as well as lobby and exterior artwork. Considered one of the finest acoustic performance spaces in the Rocky Mountain West, it also houses the Lamont School of Music.

Newman Center event parking

The Newman Center for the Performing Arts is located at 2344 East Iliff Avenue in Denver.

The Newman Center parking garage opens 90 minutes prior to performances and is located immediately south of the Newman Center at University and Wesley. Unless otherwise noted, parking is $12. Upon payment, a parking attendant will provide you with a permit to display on your dashboard. In the event the Newman Center parking garage reaches capacity, there will be a designated overflow lot (H1 & H2) made available and parking attendants will assist.

Please note: parking on the University of Denver campus requires payment or a parking permit at all times.

Box office parking

There is a twenty minute parking zone located directly in front of the Newman Center on Iliff Avenue that may be used when visiting the box office.

Concessions

A variety of snacks, drinks, and alcoholic beverages are offered at most Newman Center events. Both cash and credit/debit cards are accepted.

Limited Mobility

Wheelchair-accessible seating and areas are available upon request. Patron services staff (ushers) can help with getting from the door to your seats. Please indicate your request when purchasing tickets through the box office at 303-871-7720.

Accessible Parking

The parking garage immediately south of the Newman Center at University and Wesley has designated accessible parking and an elevator.

Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Listening devices are available. Check with the box office or patron services staff upon arrival to make use of this system.

Sign Language Interpretation

Sign language interpretation is available by request. Please contact the box office at 303-871-7720 to inquire about availability and tickets.

Yes — but there are caveats. Newman Center offers campus pricing to DU students and employees for most Newman Center Presents performances. Pricing for third-party hosted events at Newman Center is set by rental clients and may or may not include student or campus pricing. Call 303-871-7720 or stop by the box office to inquire about pricing for specific performances. Faculty and staff must present a Pioneer ID at the box office to purchase discounted tickets. DU students may use the student ticketing portal to get free and discounted tickets online. There are no refunds for tickets unless a show is canceled by the Newman Center.
For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, masks which conceal the face may not be worn while in attendance at any University of Denver event. This policy shall not apply to: covering any part of the face for religious reasons; wearing protective equipment while engaged in a sport or responding to an emergency or safety situation; engaging in a theatrical production or similar University sanctioned event; or wearing a mask for medical reasons. Please refer to the University Policy on Wearing Masks on University Premises for other exceptions to this policy or to request additional policy exceptions. Signs, banners, large hats, costumes, and similar items must not impair the view of other guests, and must be sized so that they will not interfere with any other guest’s seating area.
In general, Newman Center shows are for guests ages at least four years of age unless noted. Some performances are not appropriate for children.
