Accessibility

The Newman Center offers multiple accessibility services, including assistive listening systems, transport chairs*, transfer seats, accessible seating, booster seats, and restrooms and exterior doors equipped with automatic door openers. Additionally, audio description and American Sign Language services are available. Patrons seeking accommodations can call (303) 871-7720.

Please note, all accessible and non-accessible parking on the University of Denver campus requires payment or a parking permit at all times.

*A manual wheelchair allows the user to self-propel, while a transport chair requires a caregiver to push.

  • Limited Mobility

Accessible seating and other accommodations are available upon request. Patron services staff (ushers and house managers) can assist with getting patrons from the doors to their seats. Please indicate your request when purchasing tickets through the box office at (303) 871-7720.

  • Accessible Parking

The parking garage immediately south of the Newman Center at University and Wesley has designated accessible parking spaces and an elevator.

  • Deaf or Hard of Hearing

June Swaner Gates Concert Hall is equipped with a hearing loop system. A hearing loop wirelessly transmits audio directly to hearing aids or cochlear implants via the telecoil (t-coil) program. To learn more, contact your audiologist, or click here to visit the Assist2Hear Hearing Loops page.

Assistive listening systems are available. Please check with the box office or patron services staff upon arrival to utilize these services.

  • Sign Language Interpretation

Sign language interpretation is available by request. Please contact the box office at least two weeks prior to your request date at (303) 871-7720 or email newmanboxoffice@du.edu to inquire about availability and tickets.

  • Lactation Room

We have a private lactation room available by request. Please see the house manager for assistance.
