Performances

As one of the premiere presenting venues in Denver, the Newman Center for the Performing Arts strives to bring the world to Denver through performances in our three concert halls: the June Swaner Gates Concert Hall, the Frederic C. Hamilton Family Recital Hall, and the Elizabeth Eriksen Byron Theatre. During the 2022-23 season, the Newman Center hosted 230 ticketed performances and welcomed over 77,000 patrons. We continue to be the home for national and international touring artists not seen elsewhere in the market through our Newman Center Presents series, which includes in 2023-24 the legendary Martha Graham Dance Company, Grammy award-winning Best New Artist Samara Joy and the Joshua Redman Quintet.

The Newman Center is the home to many cultural organizations throughout Denver, but also strives to strengthen the arts ecosystem by supporting local artists and communities who may not have the means to present at the Newman Center alone. Long-standing friends of the Newman Center, such as Friends of Chamber Music and the Denver Post Pen & Podium series continue to bring riveting performances and lectures to the venue.

The Newman Center is also the proud home of DU's Lamont School of Music, which in 2022-23 included over 100 performances that included student and faculty recitals, along with guest performances from esteemed artists from around the country. The DU Theatre Department also makes the Newman Center its home, having presented 30 performances of four productions during the 2022-23 school year.

We can't wait to celebrate the performing arts with you!
