Voices of America
In honor of America's 250th birthday, we present an All-American program that features some of the great stars of the University of Denver. The concert opens with Aaron Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man. Trumpet Professor Brian Neal takes the spotlight in the world premiere wind ensemble arrangement of his Emmy Award–winning Concertante. The evening also features Atomic Time by local composer James David and the bassoon concerto Reliable Sources by Nico Muhly, featuring Martin Kuuskmann. The evening concludes with Aaron Copland's A Lincoln Portrait with narrator Sahara Byrne, Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences.
